What are custom produce bags?
Custom produce bags are printed retail pouches for fresh fruit and vegetables such as cherries, grapes, tomatoes and berries. They usually combine a printed header with your brand and PLU code, a clear window so shoppers can see the fruit, vent holes for airflow, a carry handle and a reclosable zipper.
Why do produce bags have holes?
Fresh fruit keeps respiring after harvest. Vent holes or micro-perforations let moisture and gases escape so condensation doesn't build up inside the bag, which helps the produce hold up on the shelf. We can set the hole size, count and position for your product.
Can you print PLU codes, barcodes and country of origin?
Yes. PLU numbers, UPC barcodes, country of origin, grower and distributor details, organic seals and bilingual English/French copy can all be printed as part of your artwork.
What features can I add to a produce bag?
Common options are die-cut carry handles, press-to-close zippers, vent holes, clear windows, stand-up gusseted bottoms and full-color printing on the header and base.
How long does production take?
Allow 8–12 weeks door to door. Bags are made at our factory in China and shipped to you after you approve the proof.
